Yes he is. I know his name, but not his ID here. Good thought.

The 92 owner is president of the Central Ohio Corvette Owners Association

To bad you don't live here.
http://sfbay.craigslist.org/nby/car/261569887.html 89 convrt, 118k.
92 cpe zr1 wheels 107k miles $7,900
90 cpe 92k miles $6,500

The 92 is the best bet, but its over priced by $700.00 but its a place to start.
Whatever you buy have it inspected before you give up your money.
If it comes back clean you can go from there, if it doesn't its a way get the price down.

I`d have to say the 92, mechanically it`s a very different animal
Better engineered. Chevrolet didn`t spend all those years making C4`s
worse. in my experience it pays to get the most up to date possible spares will be more readily available Etc.....however if you don`t feel right about the car when you`ve seen it/driven it take time to find one thats right for you it`s worth being patient until the right one comes along.

good luck,

Eddie

For anyone that is interested, the '92 was where I was leaning. The '92 won.

Thanks. I'm stoked. I see you're nearby.
It's in Columbus, I've got to get a cashier check and head down there next nice day we get so I can get it home to Akron. Forgot to take my camera today, but you can be sure, I'll put pics up.
The only problem with the car is the weatherstrip, but for $8.7k, I can fix that. He has the original warranty in the glovebox. The car went in service 6/22/92 in Medina, Ohio. So, it's spent it's life here.

It's killing ya ain't it ? It only gets worse/better depending on your outlook. I still go out to the garage to just look at mine durring the winter and tinker of course. Wait till you start modding it, ask questions first though there are alot of waste your money parts out there for these cars and some mods that really do wonders for them.

Yep. I've wanted one of these things since I was 15, so I have it bad. Fortunately, my wife is onboard with this. We both went down to look at it today... she said a vette is better/cheaper than a girlfriend. Not sure she understands that a vette IS a girlfriend.

This is my thrid C4, I had a 85 and an 89 previously. I love these cars.
I park mine all winter and waste money on it. I've got a wife and two kids, I don't go to bars or anything like that so what the hell. Being a life long Browns fan means after about the first five weeks of football I can quit watching them and tinker with the car on Sundays.

This is my first vette of any kind. I'm almost 50. I chose C4 because they're the cheapest for a decent driver. 3 kids makes me mind money. I'm finally in a position to do this financially. Still feel a little guilty, but we only live once, right? Browns fan? Me too. Hasn't been the same since '95. Oh well, like you say, this gives us reason to find other diversions.

#1 - A 1986 with 65k on a dealer lot. Basic burgandy Corvette coupe with a very nice grey interior. Dealer states it drives straight and strong. Problems are as follows, tach is out on dash. Switch for AC/heater fan doesn't always work. Screws for targa top bottom out, but no leaks. Stereo, head unit and speakers are terrible. Paint looks good, still don't know if it has cast or aluminum heads, I'll assume cast. Price $7k as is.
#2 - A 1992 black rose/beige automatic coupe, 97k. Owned by a Corvette enthusiast who I don't know, but claims to be in clubs, and owns 3 other Corvettes. He claims he also owns 3 other Vettes. He says the car is nearly perfect. Driver's seat was repaired. Bottom line price, about $8.7k.

I won't tell you which way I'm leaning, but I will tell you, I'm not loaded, every dollar matters to me. So, tomorrow is the day, let me have your opinions please. Thanks.
Then don't buy a Vette. If you are tight on money, save more and get a better one. A Corvette will drive you to the poor house faster than fast.

It's still mixed. Anytime you spend $9k on yourself, you think of the things the family could enjoy... or home improvement, or... you get the idea.
I'm sitting in my easy chair, on my laptop, watching a movie with the wife.... "Cars". I kid you not.

I checked your profile and that's not just a neat avatar you got there.
Oh to only have more Corvettes than one could clean and detail in one weekend.
