I'm currently replacing my door panels. I think I've made the right project decision at the moment because what was hiding behind the door panels is hideous. Looks like the previous owner decided to have some aftermarket stuff installed then ripped out... wires are all terribly spliced and the door lock rod isn't even connected to the actuator any more.
Long story... longer, it looks like I'm just going to have to rip everything out, properly rewire, clean, then reinstall all of the parts.
I've decided since I would be this far into it, I would upgrade my window regulators (I have the old ribbon style). Have any other CF members done this before? If so, anything I should be aware of? Also, do you know what size hex bolts I will need since my regulators didn't come with them? Thank you much!
Yeah, I was looking over that write up actually. Looks pretty straight forward. I'm trying to put together notes from that and my FSM... don't really want to drill into my door more than once
It is an easy swap. My 86L had the holes already drilled. I just put them in and they worked. Repin the passenger side so the up and down are right. Those are 10 mm headed metric bolts, common as dirt.
When the cuts on your hands heal, it will all be worth it.
