4+3 o.d. button

4+3 o.d. button
OK Im a new owner actually havent got to drive car yet needs work but a quick question it is a 1984 4+3 where is the overdrive button located some tell me the shifter **** some tell me the button on the console.

On my 85 it's on the shifter ****. There is no button on the console.....

on my console I have power windows power mirror and an unknown button beside mirror most replacement consoles only have the button for the mirrors

on the 84's it's on the console next to the mirror switch. and yes you still can get replacement console covers with the cutout for that switch.

On my '85 it's on the console plate, same way for the '84s.
Early '85s had the console toggle switch, late '85s had the shifter button.

Mine's a late 85 and it's on top of the shifter. My understanding is the change was made midway through 85.

Anyone have a picture of your **** with the od on top of it? Mine is on the console and do not like it there. Was wondering if it is worth to switch over.

I was planning on wiring mine up to the steering wheel. But then I destroyed my 4speed and converted to the 6-speed.
