Software for repairs
As far as repair manuals:
I used AllData (manual on a disk) for awhile, it was very incomplete.
Kind of like Chiltons Manuals, they give you just enough information to get you into real trouble (no offense Chiltons people). I have found Motors books to be second only to factory manuals.
Do you have a link so I can go look at it?

I have the service manuals for the 'Vette but, bought this for the Aurora in lieu of the $200.00 +/- for the "Technical Manuals". There is not a Chiltons available for the Aurora.
It is better than nothing.
Mike.
It would be better than nothing by far though.
My first impression is that people take the information as gospel, and tell the mechanic to only check these specific items listed.
In the example, the answer is to check the AIR injection, partuicularly the diverter valve. Customer goes to the shop and says "check the diverter valve".
The mechanic tests the diverter valve and finds no problem, is the customer willing to pay to investigate further? Most likely not, asuumes the damn mechanic knows nothing or is trying to rip him off. In reality all that was wrong was a cracked exhaust pipe (or any other leak that allows air into the exhaust).
The people that write this kind of software are not experienced mechanics, they are just reading the information from somewhere else. If it's not the best and the latest information with all of the possibilities, even the very obscure sometimes they cause more trouble than they cure.
