I have a stock 1990 corvette coupe and I have a problem with my headlight. I narrowed it down but its one of those times when you might have to rig something better then what was on the vechile. The electric motor and gears work to turn the light. I'm getting power to them but the problem is the copper pieces that should be in contact with the electric motor are filed down so the electric motor would work for a couple times till they get pushed back. Even if I rig something better that just get pushed back by the power of the motor. I was wondering if I could just buy these pieces or somebody might help me out and point me in the right direction. thank you
If you are talking about the two end switches, I have a friends motor with worn out end switches and I haven't found any replacements yet. You can do a swap or install the next generation motors, available from any of the Corvette specialty stores like Mid-America.
thanks for the replies, I have to replace the whole motor if the motor still works? I'll check out mid-america on pricing. Are you talking about the whole motor including the gear mech?
Are you talking about the internal motor brushes? I know an electric tool repair company in Louisville that sales Bosch brushes that will fit your car, but you'll have to file them down slightly with an emery cloth.
