carpet question

I'am going to buy new carpet for my 84, looking on e-bay they have mass back carpet and plastic backed carpet is really one better than the other ? whats a good sound proof mat, insulation( whatever you call it)company,thanks guys

Mass back is the type to buy. It replaces your current carpet and insulation. The poly back is glued on top of your original carpet and is of a lesser grade carpet.
