Default Finally!

I finally got my car back today after being in the bodyshop the last two months for a new paint job. Those of you in the south will get a kick out of this, drove it home in sub zero weather. She's sleeping in the garage tonight as they are predicting -35 degrees with the wind chill.

So do ya'll freeze the paint on instead of baking the paint? I bet it's sure nice to have it back even if it's just chillin in the garage.

Best part is that it's originally from your neck of the woods. I bought it last fall and drove from Miami to Maine. It must be in shock right now!

car can't tell if it's in shock=----what's the matter with yuou! it's a car fer cryin' out loud.

then again, it's so damned frozen stiff I'm surprised it even turned over and burped, let alone started and drove under power.

you did throw a wooly blanky over it when you got home, didn't yuou?

We have a low here tonight in Atlanta of 23. I wouldn't exactly say that's warm but compared to your temps ... I am not complaining.

Guess you have to wait 'til Spring to get enough light to show us what the new paint job really looks like?

Bet you can't wait to get back on the road!

Fort Kent? Yeah, that's "WAYupnorth". Lived in Skowhegan while I worked in Hinckley. Nice country.

Having lived in Florida for 29 years, MI, IN, NY, ME, and now PA (23 yrs. combined), I am qualified to say, "It's not the paradise it is advertised as". Too much traffic, too many bugs and critters, too much heat and humidity, too much "snow" on the streets, and too much "lead" in the air. I'll take Ft. Kent over Miami anytime. I'll take the north over the south anytime, and still drive my 'vette.

The south is not as good as they think and the north is not as bad as they say.

I'm gonna try to put some wax on it this weekend and get some better pictures. That is unless the camera freezes.

I'd have to agree, When I drove it back from Miami it was sure nice to cross the Kittery Bridge into Maine. Too bad I still had 7 hours to reach Fort Kent.

I have lived in Maine for about 4 years. I do admit I love it here. There are so many scenic places to visit, Moosehead Lake, Lake Winnipasaukee, Sebago Lake, the Maine coast, White Mountains, Acadia Park. These are all day trips from southern Maine. After living in eastern Massachusetts for 10 years, I like being away from the traffic and the higher cost of living. There is a lot to be said for quality of lifestyle and the change of seasons.

Washed the salt off from the short trip from the body shop. Put on 2 coats wax to keep her sealed till spring. Looks like a sheet of black glass.
