I'm not getting any heat in my corvette. I've checked my display and I know the thermostat is working as it opens around 210 and keeps the engine tempature at 190.
I've back flushed the core and touched the hoses when the engine is hot to ensure there is warmth there.
I've changed the Heater Control Flow Valve. Still I get no heat.
I've set the inside temperature to 80 and still no luck.
Any ideas or suggestions?
When the core is plugged, coolant flows over the top but not through it (think of what might happen if the flow stopped). If the core was readily accessible, you could verify it by putting your hand on the fins to see if they were nice and toasty. You can try compressed air, but system pressure is only 15 to 16 psi, so if you get too aggressive, you can put a nasty hole in it. Your real solution is to replace it.
Does the hot/ cold door move? Pull the (I don't know what it is or what it's called thing on top of the heat/ac box under the hood) out and see if the door moves. The door can be seen if you remove this item with wires coming out of it on top of the heat/ac plenum under the hood. It looks like a heat sink when you pull it out. Then you can look down in the hole to see if the door moves when the heat is cycled on or off. Come back and let us know what you find.
I had an '89 coupe several years ago that had a non funtioning heat door due to some "cold" solder joints on the ac programmer board.

Ah, I've got some photos of this I've been meaning to post. I have them at work and will try to remember to post them shortly after arriving at work.
