Now is the time to STRIKE, Tim. Since you're not driving anyway pull the bad shocks and send them in to Bilstein for rebuilding. It's cheaper, and you'll know they're perfect. And it gives you a chance to touch it, play with it, clean it, get to know it - and it's a simple fix that will give you tons of satisfaction.
Search the threads under "Bilstein" for the address, phone number and name of the guy who will take your shocks in, fix and ship them back to you. About two weeks of down-time, over all.
