Clutch install going well
We had to quit then for him to go to work, we shall finish it today sometime. EVERYTHING has gone perfectly, I just happened to park the car so we could get to both sides of the driveshaft to disconnect it
The best part of all is that the flywheel is just fine, that was my number one concern about the whole project. It is as smooth as can be, there isn't even a ridge where the old clutch had been. There are some links to pictures below, just pics of the old clutch and the new one, etc. The old clutch is pretty crappy, I've seen worse of course but this one isn't too healthy. It's fine on the street and probably would have had a long life ahead of it but it just didn't hold up on the track.

Anyway, the install went real well until the clutch decided to not work properly. It wouldn't release at all. We pulled the tranny back out, watched the clutch work fine, put the tranny back and then it worked. I don't understand what it's problem was and I really don't care, it was just a real PITA to have to drop that tranny again. It only weighs 80 tons.
This time I did have the proper tool to get the drain and fill plugs out. That was some nasty looking fluid. Nice and dark with the good old metallic sheen to it. I drained all that up and filled it back with fresh fluid, it has never shifted better.
