I bet that "gold" would start flaking off pretty quickly. I have seen other styles of wheels done like that and they all had flaked pretty bad....

I believe it is gold anodized plating they have alot of different colors available some people have anodized parts under their hoods like red or blue caps on their braided hoses

IIRC, a few of the accessory catalogs like Ecklers' or Mid-america had them about 10 years ago. Maybe they thought that Disco was not dead at that point.

A good plating shop could do something like that. Either anodizing or gold plate depending on how much money somebody wants to spend.

But the poor car in the pic needs to be put out of its misery. The body kit is teh suck.

For that?? In the US, that amount of money would get a nice Z06 or a very pristine late ZR-1.

Don't even look up C5's if you're faint of heart. Aussie Vettes cost a lot from the LCT, GST and the cost of conversion to RHD.

It only has 40K on the odometer, because the owner was too embarrassed to drive it.

The wheels are ugly, but I must admit they are the best looking part of that car.

i just had never seen wheels like that.

yes Vettes are expensive here... but what you see here is our 'premium' selection on the west coast.... damn.
c5's go for around 70+ grand and c6's your still looking at 200+ grand(for non z06 option)thats why im always telling you States-siders to sell down here... you still make a decent profit after tax gst conversion etc...

The ad states:
THIS VEHICLE HAS A STEALH BODY KIT FITTED,AS A GM DESIGH EXERCISE,STUNNING LOOKS AN DIFFERENT

I have never seen pics or even heard of a GM design like this. I don't think the designers at GM would have been allowed to let this out of the building. Dave McLellan would have probably smashed it. Larry Shinoda would have quit in disgust and Zora would have probably laughed.

BTW, the interior pic shows that it's still left-hand drive. What is the cutoff year for converting imported cars to RHD?? Or is there one??

Sales pitch??

in Western Australia, which is were this car is being sold, the cut off for rhd conversion is 14 years old.... or there abouts (dont know how they got that number). if it is newer than 14 years you have to get it converted to drive it... but there is a loophole, join the Vette club down here and you can get a special concesional licence which allows you to drive it on specific days.
lucky for me my 87 is older than the 14 year cut off, so mine is licenced for everyday use as lhd... which takes a little getting used to a first when you switch between rhd/lhd.

14 year rule came in the keep classics/future classics original... eg. no one WANTS to cut up a 63 split window dash.... or a superbird dash!

Eh, body kits. Not for me, but I've seen some that look kind of cool. That purple 84 in the for sale section has a nice one. But the one on this car... If you want a ricer, buy a ricer.
