This is right before I painted my calipers last February:

87 L98
Valve Covers and Plenum repainted, wires replaced with yellow taylors by corvetteronw
Later, I took the alternator bracket off and polished it. I used simichrome after wire brushing it with a drill.

The most noticeable improvement you'll see is if you repaint your valve covers and (possibly) plenum, polish up or paint the aluminum under there and keep the rubber hoses and such clean and shiny(looks like you already do).

The wires are MSD Superconductors and they're available in sizes to fit our cars

MSD has the Corvette L98 specific 8.5 SuperConductor wire set for under the valve covers (p/n 31459) but there is also a "generic" HEI set (p/n 31359) for over the valve covers. The generic set has shorter wires but all 8 wires have 90 degree plug boots. I think that's what I want for my header install. The 31459 set uses one "multi-angle" plug boot out of the eight.

Did you use the 31359 wires??

I don't recall the part number, but I did use the L98 specific wires and they are 8.5s. BTW, I do have headers on my car now and I'm still using the same wires and looms.
