Anybody ever put these on a C4?
I always thought they looked good and were very functional
They were also called slats
Early 240z's had them as did some Camaro's in the 80s
Post pics if you got em
From: St. Louis, Mo......... 1993 Torch Red w/White Interior...2006-07 Bloomington Gold 2005-ZR1/C4 Gathering, 2001-2012 Funfest
Now that is something you don't see very often. Seems like they went out in the 80's. I had them on my 75-280z and on a 79 TA, but that was back in the 80's.
It just so happens that I spotted a Grand Sport with a set of louvers. And I did take a few pics. Enjoy.
Louvers.....Dude...you can't get much more "80's" than Louvers....except for maybe using the word "Dude" to get your attention.
So I submit to you...."DUDE" .....I had an 86 Z-28...Black.....had Louvers.......I had a Black 87 Trans-Am....had Louvers......I had an 88 Grey IROC Z-28....had Louvers!!! If the opportunity arises...and I come across Louvers for My 87 Vette....I will be hard pressed not to get them. I think they look great on the C4...although I rarely see them...except on some Camaro's that are still out there from the 80's

Hey dude,
This is a '78 T/A I had bought brand new in 1980 (dealer's son used it for 2 years w/o titling it- the kid lived next door to me). This pic is from 1983 when I was moving from NY to Wi.
The center section had hinges on the top, and locks on the bottom were it met up with the side units.
You could lift the center up to clean the window, and the unit had a prop rod inside the L.H. edge to keep it up.
Notice the Fuzzy dice on the mirror.
They were imported from Canada.
Man......I really need to stop smokin' on that sticky green stuff.........I swear dude.........I think someone just asked about louvers for a vette!!!!!!
DUUUUUUDE!!!!!! That would be totally awesome!!!!!!
And......on a more serious note..........
Man does that take me back a few years!
A girlfriend of mine had those on her Camaro (yup.......was in the '80's).
Not real sure if I liked the looks of them on the pic Riks40th posted (would like to see a full side shot of the vette first). Interesting thing to do (and yes, quite functional).
Hopefully someone has a pic of a vette with 'em on it from the side that they'll post.
On a side note.........I don't touch the stuff in the first paragraph
Just put that statement up for the effect

I like the louvers look.. not sure about the GS one. If it was just plain black on any solid color vette then that would look better IMO. I wlways liked the look on the 80's firebirds/camaros though

No question it's a matter of personal taste. As mentioned it's a very retro 70's, 80's look, if that's what you're looking for. I prefer the simple, sleek look of the corvette!
