Default Gs-80

I was at barnes and nobles the other day and found a book on crvette histoy. In this they breifly mentioned the GS-80 (Grand Sport) designed by Dick Guldstrand designer of the Zr1.

Now it said it was 400+hp and in the pictures it was an L98 with modded runners. It also looked like it had molded in larger flares in the back for the wider wheel base. I was wondering in anyone had more info on this car?

Here is a pic of one: Oops - not working. I will try later. Seems to be a problem with the photo hosting site.

The first GS cars had L98 motors, the flairs were added by the owner maybe. When the ZR1 came out he did a new GS,I think it was the GS90 but not sure, and it might have used propane other than gas and Dick Gulstrand didnt design the ZR1.This new car had a new body.

In the picture it shows him standing next to a black coupe. The flares are not added on they are molded in. And in the caption it said he was part of the design team.

I guess i'll have to go and buy the book. I just thought that some one would now more about it. It didn't give any more info than that though.

Also how many of them were made? I have never seen one other than that one inthe book. That vert looks good too.

I want to say Corvette Fever did an article within the last 2 years on Dick's own Grand Sport. Let me see if I can't find the article and scan it in.

Little off topic, but I had to laugh. I was just at Barnes and Noble and purchased the exact same book.
