I do not use my 90 Vette as a daily driver. Its a weekend car and sometimes a week evening car. When I am not focused on work and have a break in the evening I enjoy getting in the car and take a "night run" as I call it. My wife knows if there is something she needs from the grocery store late at night she can count on me jumping in my Vette to pick up whatever our family needs. I stopped at our neighborhood grocery store and was in and out quickly. As I approached my Corvette there were two really nice looking moms / wifes talking next to their mini van. I opened the passenger door to place the bags inside and I heard one of the women make a nice comment about my car. The other one said "it fits you". Oh Boy, well I closed the door and took a few steps towards them and said thanks for the comment about the car. We talked briefly about the car and I told them both I needed to get going. Then off I drove. I thought if I had been in my Cadilac Seville I do not think a comment would have been made. Oh well an interesting night run for sure.
Milf or no Milf, I refuse to park next to a minivan. All I can picture is a pile of rugrats bouncing off my car, and soccer moms never put their carriages back..
A few months ago I was stopped at a light in front of a bar. 2 guys and a girl were outside smoking a cigarette and one guy comments to the other about what year he thought the vette was. Blah blah blah, the guy says to the other - I'd rather have the Caddy in front of him than the vette. Go figure.

I find it hard to gas up in a timely manner. Always someone there who wants to talk Corvettes. That's all right though. For many years I was that guy who would come up to a Corvette owner and tell them about the 65 vert I had to sell when I left for Vietnam. Took me 26 years to get another one.
Wow, you are so right, we are driving the same looking car. I have some scratches on my wheels from 17 years of wear. Have you been able to find a way to polish those scratches off. I want to keep my Vette completely stock and trying to maintain everything on it if I can. Let me know please. Thanks,

I had my wheels polished about 4 years ago and so far I have not had to remove any scratches. From what I've read here from guys that have polished wheeels themselves it shouldn't be too hard. I would think sand paper in finer and finer grits down to 2000 grit followed by some compound would do the trick.
Cruizin with the wife last Monday on a rare night run to the sushi bait shop when I look to the right easing up to the light...an Admiral Blue '94.
I rolled down the passenger window as the other car's descended as well. Uber-Fox youngish blonde says "Nice car! Is it a '96"? "Yeah, I love that color". Aren't they great cars"? So forth and so on during the ever so brief red light. Mind you I'm looking past the old lady all during this. (SCHWING!!) It didn't stop me from the stop light fantasies. I had a three year hot romantic relationship with a heart-rending break-up complete with stalking compressed in that 30 second red light
I keep being asked if I am going through my mid-life crisis. I tell them, "Hell Yes. And I am enjoying every bit of it". No matter where I go people will always look at my car.
Me too! I grew up in Alphataterville - my folks are still there, actually - out Rucker Rd. near Crabapple. I graduated from Milton (the OLD Milton H.S., not this new Milton Academy b.s.), and since then I've been moving further and further west. I still think about good 'ol Alpharetta all the time, though. It sure has changed alot, though....

Ain't we ALL been there???!!!
And if you haven't, turn in your Vette keys and buy a damn Buick.
Thanks for the chuckle!!!

Interesting. My wheels do have scratches on them. I would love to remove those and get them looking new again. I will have to try that on a small section of the wheel and see how it does. The entire outside of the car does not have any scratches or dents. There is some oxidation on the rear that I want to work out when the weather warms up. The interior is perfect as well. The guy who had this car took such good care of it. I was lucky to find it. Thanks for the information.
