Default Rats....Really Rats

I pushed the baby out of the garage where she had been residing for most of the winter in order to go for a ride. A beautiful day was beginning with top down weather in the forcast. Stuck the key in the ignition and cranked. That's all I did was crank. No fire. What was I to do? I made up a harness to check the spark, no problem there. Looking at the fuel manifold, I had recently changed out a injector that was leaking, to see if it was still intact. Alas, rodent droppings were present under the fuel rail covers. All agast at the intrusion I looked at the power distribution terminal aft of the battery and saw, much to my dismay, 1 wire eaten away. Quickly I removed the side cove panel, repaired the wire, and tried again. SUCCESS, we are going to have a wonderful ride today. Rat traps have been set all around the baby. I'll smash the little bugger into oblivion.

I have heard of putting some dryer sheets in your interior and under the hood will help repel the nasty vermin varmits!

A few years ago I bought an 87 and drove it home 1,300 miles. I should have checked the spare tire before I left but in the excitement I failed to do so.
The day after I got her home I started to look things over. I dropped the spare and there was a mouse nest in it along with a mouse mummy!
Later on I discovered where they had eaten a hole in the vacumm line for the cruise control and where they must have chewed the wiring on the passenger side injectors. (The previous owner had replaced them cause you could see the wires were not dirty and were a different color.) Then found out they little devils had chewed the hose to the windshield washer.
Luckily I had the dash off and found no signs of them in there at all.
I hate meeces to pieces.

Mothballs in the tail pipe tips and under the hood with keep the varmints away....cedar chips for the interior to keep out moisture & mildew...and keeps from smelling stale....

..heck, you can leave mothballs in little sacs (like a roe bag used for salmon fishing or a piece of pantyhose) in your garage year round near your doorway and that will help to keep them from even going in.

This is exactly what I do. Mine usually sits from Dec-Feb. I put 1 sheet inside the car, 2 sheets inside the engine compartment, and 2 sheets around each tire(1 in front, 1 behind), surround the tire so they can't climb up the tire. So far so good, I have never had any problems with rodents.

Guys here is a new one a friend told me about but never tried. Get an old battery and carefully open it up and place the battery plates around and if mice/rats encounter the battery acid plates, it burn their feet and will not return. Sounds logical LOL
