The mileaged displayed would be from the used cluster. The VIN of the car it came from would show up on a Tech-1 scan tool. If your car had FX3 and the donor car did not, you would not be able to pull FX3 error codes.

On the 90-96 clusters that is wrong. It is stored in the CCM.

The seller seems to be trying, but sounds like he got some bad info when he bought it.
Between the new side panels, the fishy odemeter, it is definately a car I would go see before I put any money down on.
Mine was rear ended and had the newer style rear end installed, but I knew this going into it when I went to look at the car. All signs pointed to a minor rear impact and it was used as a perfect excuse to put a new style rear end on.
Just something I would want to check out first.
