Thanks for the info. I am going to look into it.
Do you guys do this often.
I used to do it all the time when I was back in ohio. I haven't done it yet with the vette. I just ordered an R-D x frame brace to get it sured up a little bit since I have a very high mileage car. Then I'm going to get sway bars and shocks then head over. I have considered hitting up an event about May 3-4 up in LA but I will just be coming out of the field on April 21st from a month long field op and I don't know if I can get all my mods in before the event. You can run stock and just go to any of the events. Your car will do ok but you'll probably get a piece of humble pie the first run.
I used to run my university's Formula SAE car in these events to raise money to pay for parts on the race car. And since the vette is a high level car you will be going against some serious competition. I promise you though win or lose you are going to LOVE IT. It is what our cars were made to do.
When I first started autocrossing my '94 I couldn't believe how competitive it was compared to when I used to run a Corolla. Doh!!! I learned that Corvette guys can be damn serious about performance driving.

Tires, brakes, wheel bearings, ball joints, tie rods, power seat tracks, steering pump, ujoints, pedals, quarterpanels, but other than that, nothing really.
Here is what I learned,"Drag racing is for fast cars, autocross racing is for fast drivers"
Go to the autocross section of this forum to see what to bring and how to prepare for your first autocross. http://forums.corvetteforum.com/showthread.php?t=673766 . One thing they tell you for your first season of autocross, leave your ego at the gate. I'm not a fan of SCCA. They are bias towards imports and are not real friendly to Corvettes. If there is a NCCC up there, go to them.
You'll love the competitive environment and you'll learn tons about your abilities and you Vette's.

Keep those two things in mind and you'll have a lot more fun.
If you're like me, you'll think you're a pretty hot driver.....until you do your first autoX.
I remember my first time. I went as a passenger in a Jetta (of all things) driven by an experienced autox-er. Holy crap!!
That's what I kept saying the whole 59 seconds...."Holy crap...!"
