There's not many of us up here in Vermont. I store mine through the winter and drive my f150. I can't wait till spring gets here so I can start driving my car again. I thought it was close last week then we had to go and get another 15+ inches of snow over the weekend . Are you part of any corvette/car clubs in Vermont?
If you can afford a Corvette you should be able to afford something to drive in the snow. Proper tool for the job. I have a Tahoe it works great
I have 4 Corvettes it's not about the expense it's about being able to drive one. In Vermont winter is from Oct to May and I'm not willing to be Vetless for that period of time my snow Vehicle;
Mitsubishi Endeavor AWD with Studded Nokia Hakapollita's it'll go through 2' up my driveway without plowing.
The set up on the C4 is used just to get it out of the driveway then I take them off. I need my Corvette fix on a regular basis or I get all

Nothing formal as the only Corvette Club is in Burlington about 2.5 hours away. I do get together with a bunch of car guys out of Ludlow for cruise ins and local car shows.
I drive a Chevy pickup in the winter. Can't wait to get mine back together and ready for spring.
I've debated buying a C5 but I couldn't sell my C4 and I just can't see owning two summer cars when summer is only 5 months a year.
Four Vettes in Vermont that's great! If you didn't have the chains you'd only be able to drive one a day from winter to summer than it's time to put them away again!
I have a friend in Colchester with five vettes but he only drives two of them. He's had the other three for a long time now.

I was just goofing on ya to each his own. I live in Minneapolis I know a little about cold and snow. I pack my vette up for the winter I don't need any trouble. The great thing about storing them is the feeling you get on the first spring drive almost comes close to the first time you drove your vette for the first time ever. I can't wait were getting close one nice rain to wash down the tons of salt and I'm out.
Some of the C-4's are getting cheap enough to use for winter fix but I was more wondering as the C-5's come down in price if they would make winter rats with the right tires?? That's because I remember reading that during their initial cold weather testing that their traction control was so good that they were doing better in the snow than the 4-WD Suburban's??

The only issue would be heavy accumilations of snow. My wife's Audi has an AWD system that is 10X better than the 4WD system in my Chevy pickup but if there is accumilation of 10 inches or more of snow the car high centers and goes nowhere, no matter what drive system you have. That is when the 35" tires on my truck really shine I think that would be the biggest problem with the Vette - no ground clearance would be a problem in a decent storm.
I bet with a good set of Hakka's on slippery conditions a C5 with traction control would be a blast!
VtVette We don't get a lot of storms with big accumalation but the truck or Suv is only answer then, but rest of time lake effect just makes for slick [1-4"] it is just fun to play!!
