'96 Collector Edition...
I'm glad I read this thread. I once thought I overpaid for my LT4 CE Roadster. It looks like I got a good deal. Original price on the net was $27,000. It was at the dealership for almost a year. They accepted my offer of $21,000 OTD. It had 14,500 miles. Now it has almost 19,000. So, 4500 miles in 3 months. I like driving this car.
I have a LT4 CE Vert. When I was shopping i remember seeing that they made more Red interiors than black or gray for the CE. I don't remember where I saw the numbers but I will try to look. Not sure about the others like GS or other classes

LT4 vert with 7k miles? $25K would be stealing it! Dealer is offering you a bargain for $27K, car is realistically worth 30 easy. Low miles cars are highly prized and worth considerably more to some but admittedly they are not for everyone. Lots of folks will advise you to just find a higher miles car and pay a lot less for it. Truth is this car is not overpriced at all and is now a bargain at 27. If you kept this car nice and kept the miles low you will not lose any money on this one should you decide to sell at some point. In fact this car is poised to increase in value though this is not yet true of all C4's. Low production or highly desireable versions or special models with low miles is the whole ballgame with C4's. C4's currently run the gammut from entry level cars to cars like this one and slightly beyond with the ZR-1's and Grand Sports. Prize would be a GS vert with 7K miles and red interior!
although i'd stay at 25k because it isn't a hardtop.
If he intends to drive the car and treat it like any other Corvette I would suggest he find something with more miles in the same condition for a lot less money. If he wants a show piece with a some rarity to it than this could be the one.
I had my CE LT4 vert red interior fully optioned car for sale over the winter for $29,000. I had a few people interested but decided not to sell for the fact that I have never seen another one optioned like mine.
Keep us informed on his decision.

I believe the pricing is realistic ...

That's a real risk when you buy a Corvette. Since 2003, I've put 27K on two successive 96s driving basicly nowhere. Since 2003, I've but 5K on the Neon. It was supposed to be the other way around. Even just up to the supermarket, why drive a Neon when you can drive a Corvette?

Absolutely! We've put far less miles on our daily driver than on the last one and it is all the "fault" of our Corvettes ...
Sounds like a very nice vehicle. Maybe original documentation and even a chat with previous owner would satisfy concerns. I have both 2002 coupe and 96 CE Convertible / Grey leather & the ZR1 wheels it came with. 23K miles and in the faqmily since new. Drives great and I don't believe you would be diappointed with performance and driving characteristics. ( If it is the car you want and you intend to retain it, a small premium could easily be forgotten in a year or two. )
