I was told the paint code is in the glove box for my 87 with all the repo codes but they are all 3 digits while I was under the understanding that the paint code is only 2 digits. Didnt see it on the door jam either so what do I not know or what am I missing guys, thanks a bunch for your help.

My car is the darkish sliver with that light tint of bronze and just am not sure what the true color is called. THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR EVERYONES HELP

RPO codes and paint sticker should be in the storage compartment behind the drivers seat.

To confirm you have the correct paint code once you find it check on this site:

http://www.corvettepaintcodes.com/

Sounds like Silver Beige Metallic code #59

Also note when you find the RPO sticker the paint code will probably be near the bottom.

Also I've found that sometimes when I call in a GM paint code the paint store will have several (sometimes many) listings for the same number. Once you have your paint code go to the website above and scan over to the far right column under "WA Code" and jot that down too. Keep it handy when you order paint. Many times it's easier to get the right paint from the WA number than from the actual code.

Location of RPO codes will depend on the year of Corvette.
Only the later ones had them in storage compartment.

Some years, they are under the center console lid.

but that paintcodes site should give all the info needed

You got it - WA L7719 is the "WA" number I mentioned above. If you check the website I posted earlier and go to 1987, then look at the WA numbers #7719 is code 18 - Medium Gray Metallic

From the link that VtVette posted, I looked up the number you listed above. The key is "WA L7719", then look at the chart and you can see a column far right "WA Code".

So, your number is listed
OEM code: 18
WA Code: L7719
Color: Medium Gray Metallic

Forgot to mention: The L is for Lower, U is for Upper. Your two numbers are the same "7719", but some cars are two tone, and this is how they list both colors out.
