Airhead drivers. Sometimes it happens to me. I will miss the wave coming from a passing Corvette and wave after he is gone. They probably think I am a snob. Actually I have 10 things in my mind and not paying attention to oncoming traffic. After a few minutes in the Vette I usually settle in and get with the program. (and wave)

I really don't see the point in the wave. Every "car club" does it. I've seen the Jeep guys wave, the mustangs have a wave, the vipers have a wave, and so does everyone else that drives the same cars. Personally, I think it's just way over used and diluted.

Also, just because somebody doesn't wave when you pass them doesn't mean they're a stuck up snob either. For all you know, they could be thinking how cool it was to see another car like theirs on the road. I promise you that if you drive past me and wave that I probably won't wave back. Am I a snob for not doing this? No. In fact, if you were to meet me you would quickly realize that I'm just a normal guy that happens to drive and enjoy a Vette. I'm the only one of my friends that owns a Vette and they will all tell you that I'm not a snob in any way shape or form.

My wife (who comes from a Harley background) thought I was full of it with the corvette wave...

So far she has only been in the car once when someone waved back (with all 5 fingers)

i've kinda given up on the wave, unless I pull up next to someone at a light, I usually just look at them and give a nod...

The wave will only die if we let it. I have been waving since 64' in the vetts, and flashing lights in the porches since 68'. It is something I choose to do, if it's reciprocal great, if not I'm still happy to be driving a cool car.
If I see you, I'll wave.

I always wave. It doesn't matter to me what year the other vette is, I wave. Most of the time I get a wave back, sometimes I don't. I just keep waving.

If you drive a lowly C4 in Phoenix, the only Vette driver to wave back will also be in a C4.

I'm with you joe, if I see another Vette, I wave. I don't care what year it is...if they wave back, great. If they don't, the hell with 'em.

That seems to be the case in sunny Florida too... same-generation or lower usually wave... I've only gotten one wave from a newer car, a C5...
