Default Dahmm kids!!!

God I sound like a geezer but three kids (High School to should be in college but aren't age) who live below me just wrote all over the tail of my car with their finger tips. The car wasn't washed and I'm sure there's scratches in the paint now. A few weeks ago I had an arguement with their parents and complained about all the crap they were doing. The next day there was key marks on my girlfriend's car. I have complained to the landlord twice already. (Trying to work on not doing that rage thing) Please write in any other answers you can think of. I'm hoping theirs some peaceful priest corvette owners from Nebraska right now that will calm me down!!! Should I:

Believe me, the more you complain about it, the more damage will get done...I have an idea..why dont you be the nice guy(you are but nicer then they ever could be) and go talk to them and even offer them a ride in the vette?
Get them to experience it...then explain how hard you worked to get this car and why you want to keep it as nice as possible.
Once they realize what a nice car it is, and see your the cool vette guy, it may just make them respect you more.
Rem, its keep your friends close, but enemies closer right?
:)
Its just an idea..many young kids dont realize the value of something until they get alot older..Ive given many of the neighborhood kids a ride and they NEVER EVER touched my cars..no matter what their age was...and on Halloween, my car was the only one without eggs all over it.
In fact, I had a few of the "bad" kids come up and tell me who was looking inside my car one day when I lived in condos and had to park outside in the lot.
I then had them keeping an eye on it...after the ride, they appreciated the car and me more and wanted to get one themselves oneday.
Ya never know...
:)

I could try but these are 20 year olds with ricers, bad attitudes, mystery packages in the backs of their cars they frequently visit all night, with lots of bling bling if you know what I mean. They also are pretty anti-everybody toward most people as they don't share a common ethnic background to most folks around here. I thought they would be cool to us at least since my girls Indian and I'm white and I was always cool to them. I even showed them what I was doing when I installed my sterio. Now I'm afraid the things gonna walk. Maybe I'll just get the Viper "Step away from the car" alarm. These guys have ***** though. At 6'1" 225, I have to outweigh them by at least 40 lbs and they see me going to the gym every day with a weight belt over my shoulder. Maybe I should show them my extensive firearms collection and tell them how cool that is?

Normally I'm a nice guy. But screw with the car and I'm a F$cking Ba$tard if you know what I mean. I'll check the results in the morning after a good nights sleep and a hot shower.

wow...didnt realize how bad it was...guess you cant change people once theyre in their early 20's...I understand how ya feel,Ive threaten a man who dented my other car once thinking I was one of them kids who lived up the road by him who was causing mischief.
(he was mid 40's,I was early 20s that time)
Turns out he was terrified afterwards..dont know what was I said...at least it worked..

Getting back to you...its gonna be a tough call what to do...it sucks because if you take matters into your own hands, you end up becoming the bad guy, not them eh?

Good Luck and hope you can resolve this somehow with no problems.
(btw, Nanuet always was a nice place..is it becoming a riced out area now?I grew Up across the river near peekskill and cortlandt...been to nanuet a few times..but havent been in that area for a few years since I moved)

I dunno, sounds like trouble, maybe if you guys had something in common you can try to use that to be more neutral rather than have them not like you. Maybe talk about cars together? I don't know, but when they start messing with the Vette, that's just messed up. Ask them like "Hey did you guys see what punks did this? They probably ruined my paint, bastards, it's gonna cost me a lot to fix it..." bs and stuff, so they don't suspect that you suspect them, so when you go for your revenge they wont suspect you, because they think that you didn't suspect them. If it happens again, confront them straight up, ask them what the hell their problem is. It would sound pretty hard trying to be friends with kids like that.

Or, you can race them at a drag strip and beat them, I don't know how this relates, but it would feel good if you showed these kids who think they are the s**t that they really aren't.

Its wierd. There's lots of Ricers and Harleys. And the Harleys sound better and probably have bigger motors. There are defintitely some bad apples. I saw some other kids, 4 walk out of the Nanuet mall with hefty bags full of clothes and book. I also parked at the Palasades park mall and went to the movies. When I came out, there were cop cars and tow trucks everywhere. Some kids had gone down an entire line (40+) of cars and slashed all their tires and gouged the hoods. I was parked in the next line over with a convertable. Got lucky that time. I've been in tough places. The past 5 years I've worked in Newark and I lived in Jersey City in the heights section (worst part) for 4 years. Nanuet is nothing like that but there are always a few jokers. To bad some live right underneath me.

Maybe I'll try to make nice nice. But I'm still getting the Viper, especially with a $5000 sterio under a soft top and new rims on the way. I know I definitely wasn't an angel 15 years ago, but I wasn't a ***** either. We had rules like don't mess with a man's machine. That was worse than messing with his woman. You just didn't go there. Probably a product of rice culture.

Yea you could try to make peace with them, probably a good way to go if you want to avoid further trouble in the future. I live like a minute from Newark, the worst thing that has ever happened to my Vette is someone taking off the car cover last winter, and this was a really messed up cover that scratched the car easily, so I was pretty pissed bout it for a while, I'm thinking of putting up a vid cam but I can't get a USB cable thats long enough. Maybe you should get a surveillance camera to watch over the Vette.

92, these are not "kids" in the sense that you can talk to their parents and get them to stop. Obviously if the parents had raised them with any respect for others and their property you would not be having this problem. These "kids" are of age now and should be taught a lesson. Call the cops and file a complaint, what the "kids" are doing is not playing- it is vandalism, and should be acted on as such. Maybe then the cops can get the parents attention when they have to post bail.

Yeah, and I held him back, and kept him out of JAIL! Now I've got scratches all over our Y2K1 Malibu! :mad Wishing we'd killed them then!

I've had a chat with their parents and it's calmed down some. It's a toss up as to what to do. If you don't say anything, then they think you don't care, and keep doing it. If you do say something, they may get pissed and drop a brick through your window and slash your tires. Either way your screwed. I can wait to move and get a place with a garage. I've already repaired over a $1000  worth of damage to the Vette from a hit and run here. Just makes me :U :U :U

92TripleBlack, I have been down this road in the past.. If these punks are the same type of SOB's that I came in contact with, nothing works except betting the hell out of them. My last incounter with this type (Three of them) pissed me off big time. At the time I was a Harley rider also and involved with a club that was big on helping club members. Called in a favor and 15 of the bikers showed up on their front door (me as well) and scard the SH__ out of them. They never came near my Vette again. Just some history..

You're a better man than me to remain so calm...

One thing my girlfriend tells me is that I'm a very vengeful person, I don't hesitate to retaliate on a larger scale than was done to me...

My Vette sits in the garage at my apt (duplex) and my girlfriends car sits outside... I've often restrained from getting into it with a couple of the neighbors only because I don't want anything to happen to her car...

Since my back window faces the alley where she's parked, I'm thinking about installing one of those video cameras and getting one of those survalience VCRs (one that records very slowly for a long time) so I can watch outside and specifically her car...

I've been dying to let a couple of the very inconsiderate neighbors know exactly how I feel and also to give them a little taste of their own medicine (loud music, etc)... So a video recording of any vandalism would come in handy (proof for police) since I would expect that type of retaliation...

Now if you know for sure that it's them, then a little "payback" is in order if damage is done to you... More than likely they have many enemies if they harbor the common bad attitude that you mentioned, and probably wouldn't have a clue who could have done it to them... I've found that super glue in the door locks is interesting... :)

Also, many of the ricers I've seen have quite a bit of money in their cars... I'm sure they treasure them as much as we do our cars... Now I would never advocate damaging someone else's vehicle, but I do believe that idiots like that only understand one language which is action, either physical or covert... Just remember though, getting in a fight can get you sued nowadays, not to mention that it seems like punks like to talk tough and carry weapons...

One other thing I thought about is that if the landlord doesn't do anything about the other tenants you can call the police as often as necessary... My landlady here in CA doesn't hesitate to call the cops on the complex next door... She told me that if the police get enough complaints that they'll go after the landlord for something along the lines of harboring a public nuisance after they get tired of getting called out every other day or so...
