Dash cracking...any tips?

Dash cracking...any tips?
My 85 upper dash has developed a small spiderwebbing crack just above the gauges. Its not bad, and not unsightly, YET.
Can anyone give me a tip to prevent the crack from widening or spreading?

Yea, but I'm a little funny about spending the $100 for a pad cover, not knowing if it will look indiscernible, or look like a cheap cover has been laid over the dash. A new pad is $500.
Anyone used a dash overlay ? Do you like it?
I may mix up a very thin, very small amount of epoxy and dab it on the crack and then smooth it out. I think it would stop the crack, but I don't want to be able to see the epoxy, when its hard to see the crack as it is left alone.
Maybe a call to Jason is in the near future!

contact vette to vette or another place, do a search, its been talked about alot, and you can prob get a complete pad replacement for 100-150, or watch ebay, got a new one there for $150.

This just happened on my car in the last couple days...
But mine is above the pass. side cushion, and goes straight BACK about 5".
I know wy it happened too, I took it to a car wash, a really good one where they actually clean the inside, and detail the outside. I specifically told them NOT to put armorall on the dash or interior. I made that perfectly clear, yet they hosed it down with the crap, now, like magic, I got a crack.
Ive got a kit, Im going to make an attempt to repair it, and see how it turns out...if it looks bad Ill replace it, but if it looks good I go with it.
