TX emissions question
I have a question for anyone in TX who can answer this. I'm looking to delete my smog pump from my 85. I'm not worried about passing the sniffer, but am curious if anyone has had issues with visual inspections?
Last inspection I didn't notice them lifting the hood, so I'm guessing they're not checking for the smog pump.

Well, technically they ARE supposed to look for it, but they don't open my hood half the time either. Haven't been failed without my AIR system yet, but if I pointed out that it was missing I'm sure I would...

My 84 is subject to Houstons emissions testing and all they did was the tailpipe sniff, I don't think they notice anything missing as long as you pass. My EGR has been deleted(it's a Crossfire mod)but they didn't bother to open the hood. My understanding is that it is supposed to pass a visual but if it'll pass the sniffer it must all be there, right?
Just a couple more years and it won't matter anymore!
