Default Ordered my tires/payment Q

Hey guys. I ordered my tires form tirerack a few weeks ago and paid with a money order from the bank. The rack told me they have to hold my check for 10 days, and FINALLY they are gonna be shipped tomorrow. My question is, why did i they have to hold my money order? I understand that personal checks are held to make sure the account is credible, but the bank makes sure of this before they issue anyone a money order. So why pay the extra 10 bucks? thanks.

I think the person who gave you that information was new and/or misinformed and I'd put my foot down - demand to speak to management. That's the point of using a money order, you're right.

That makes no sense, a money order is just like cash. I'd raise holy heck, and get a comp from them.

Ditto. A money order is guaranteed. Pretty stupid on their part.
What's even more astounding is that I work at a gun shop that has instant check verification. It runs the check through just as if it were a credit card. We void the check and hand it back to the customer.
If a small gun shop has this technology, you'd think surely a national tire company could have it.

You guys are thinkin along the same lines as i am. I thought it was :bs . They said if it would have been a postal monney order then they wouldnt have to hold it. I went to the post office, but they wanted cash and i didnt have $350 cash. So, i went to the bank, same thing right? WRONG!! :mad I think they are shipping my ties today. I wont have em for the show this weekend so i am pissed.
