Boxter bye-bye
Every now and then I think about getting rid of my 86, because even with some mods that have probably bumped me up closer to 260hp, I've become used to the thrust, and I like and can afford the Boxsters and M3's out there- I am a sucker for the prose waxed by the car mags......
Then I got behind a Boxter Sunday on I-4 that wanted to fool around a bit, and I was startled as to how slow his car was compared to the Vette- it wasn't just a little bit, either. A review of an R&T track test later confirmed the difference in performance.
Hmm. Go spend $50K for something that will disappoint me, or keep my $8K Vette for sunny days. Maybe in Colorado, I would enjoy the Boxster- but in flatline Florida, the Vette is tough to beat, in a number of ways.

I totally agree with you, I've smoked many of them over here, I would never trade my Vette for a Porsche...when my wife sees one she now asks "is that a real one or not" :D I have a friend over here with a 99 911 Turbo who now wants a Vette :D

You have to admit though, Boxsters are pretty cool cars. Yeah, they're not exactly fast, but look like they'd be alot of fun in the summer!
