I installed a replacement mirror in my 89 and noticed a weak yellowish light (not the map lights) now comes on when I turned on my headlights tonight. It points straight down. What is this light for?
On a related note, chalk me up as another very happy Vette2Vette customer (replacement mirror and center console lid installed tonight). Very good service and prices.
Exactly; and it illuminates the convenience area such as the cig lighter, cup holder, ash tray as well as shed a little light on the radio & HVAC controls.
Thanks for the quick answers. In the world of Corvette problems, not knowing its purpose isn't a big deal, but I was curious. I'm still finding new features on the car that I didn't realize were there (like the light for the spare tire carrier).
I love that little light. Ive gone through 2 mirrors in this car that lose their position after a few bumps in the road though so I'm back to the old style 84-87 til i can find a decent replacement...

Yep thats what is for. A general convenience lighting area. Kinda cool eh? Have you found the under the rear bumper light for the spare yet?

I just went out side to check my '91 coupe. I can not find the storage feature you refer to. However I did find 2 switches so I don't have to open the console to pop the hatch, so thanks for that.
Thanks Goldy, thanks a lot. I've only had the '91 6spd coupe a few months and still can't get over the similarities and differences with my '68 L79 4.11 4sp T-top. I do so love the triple gas mileage.
Perhaps only the very exclusive and envied ZR1 club has them because of the fatter doors?
Nope, from what I understand, when they did away w/ the glove-box on the late C4's they put the storage compartments in the doors. Just lift up the arm-rest/s and bingo...
Great stash spot cuz if you didn't know they were there, you wouldn't know they were there. But, stash...me...nah, that was long time ago.
