Top Speed on LT1 ?

Hi all,

I'm curious. Whats the top speed on a coupe w\6 spd and an LT1?
Plus....What does a 'hyperchip' do, and is it that valuable a high performance accessory?

There was a thread on LT1 topspeed in Performance/Tech. 160 to 170 was a common answer depending on TONS of variables....ambient temp, tire growth, humidity, alignment.

I have a Hypertech programmer for my 94 6 speed. All I could do is change gear ratio, tire size, and fan contol temps. Worthless unless you do gears and/or major tire size change.

It should go at least 160mph some mags of the day had them listed at

They all run 13's in the quarter mile at over 100 mph so the 0-100 is less than 13 seconds.

The common answer for a 0-60 time of the LT1 is 5.3 seconds.

I Have A Video Of Mine At 150. The Car May Have Had More But I Did'nt. Roads Around Here Are Not That Great And It Felt Like Thing Were Going To Come Apart. But It Was A Rush.
