Decisions, decisions, decisions
1. Buy a newer LS1 powered SS or WS6 6speed, Ttop car and sell/trade the Vette
2. Buy an older L98 or LT1 powered Camaro or TA and go slower with probably an automatic BUT keep the Vette
3. Buy her a Jeep Wrangler so she has a convertible, we can seat 4, AND we can do some 4 wheeling and keep the Vette.
We already have an 07 Jeep Commander Hemi, 98 Suburban 6.5 TD, 99 Z71 ext cab, 1970 Monte Carlo, 1977 Corvette, 01 Honda CBR 929, 00 Mustang GT (bought just to sell) & the 94 LT1 plus quads & PWCs....so we have no shortage of toys. I have had two 89 Firebird TPI 350s...one was a beautiful blue on silver Trans Am with auto, t tops, and cross lace wheels. The other was a maroonsih Formula 350, not as pretty as the TA, but a little quicker. I loved those cars but I was also younger, used to slow cars, and a little less wise. I think tossing an LT1/ZF 6speed in an 86-92 Fbody is nearly impossible, but would be a good start.
or if you already have all these cars, one more is not going to make that much difference.
but whatever you do, keep the vet.

Your wife doesn't think you two have enough choices for taking the three of you for a ride???
What the hell is the point of this thread, anyway???

My wife LOVES to ride in and drive the Vette but is only seats two. With summer coming she wants to be able to pack me, her, and the baby up take the top off the car, and cruise down by the river or thru the country. We are just tryingn to figure out a way to enjoy a topless drive for at least the 3 of us AND still have a fast sports car in the lineup.
I had a dream of having one of every body style (C1, C2, C3, C4, C5, C6) within 5 years, but have put that on the back burner.
The Mustang is a car I bought from the bank as a repo just to fix and sell. I am not a Ford fan at all. It's sole purpose is to fund my next to purchase.
The 77 Vette was my dad's. He let me buy it cheap to keep it in the family so I could not pass it up.
The 70 Monte was my sister-in-laws. She gave it to me before she was tragically killed. I have not finished restoring it yet....it is still in storage.
The Jeep is the wife's car. It only holds 7 and leaves NO storage room for stroller. She works downtown Cincinnati and the Suburban is too big for her parking garage.
The Suburban is the family car. I holds all 9 of us, our luggage, pulls 8000pounds and gets 21 mpg on the highway if I stay out of the turbo.
The Z71 I bought for myslef when I was a millwright and needed a truck. I ended up starting my own company and then sold it to my company as a write off.
The bikes are just for fun. Nothing compares to draggin a knee in a tight curve on a racetrack going 120mph.
I could NEVER sell my wife or kids off for all the sex and money in the world. They mean too much to me. Funny reply, though!!!!

The Jeep is the wife's car and is TONS better. It only holds 7 and leaves NO storage room for stroller. She works downtown Cincinnati and the Suburban is too big for her parking garage.

Then if you really want to impress everyone with a night out on the town, you can use the Honda, it seats 5. Maybe mount a carseat to your head and another to your wife's back.
I would also get a competent tax person so you could get more back every month instead of having a -3% government savings account that pays out every year.

This is the first year for such a huge return. I usually only get back about $150 to $200. We did not make any changes on our W4s after the new baby came. My CPA just made changes needed to avoid such problem next year. Thanks for your advice.
This thing has take a very bad turn for the worse. All I wanted was some reasonable advice from other Corvette and car lovers. My 12 year old had it right from the start. "Daddy you work everyday of every week....me and the other kids have everything we want so you should be able to buy the toys you want too."
