Since it doesn't work , and I've never used it in the bay area anyway , I got an A/C eliminator pulley . Will removal of the comp. and hoses etc. throw any codes ??? Has anyone else here done this ?

I think this works on 86 - 88 only.
You may not need an elim pulley.
Remove AC
Run the serp belt without AC through the tensioner BACKWARDS.
The tensioner does not care which way it spins.
Cut the belt. Run through as described mark and measure the new shorter length. Go to NAPA. order new belt. Good to go.
Cleans up engine bay. No AC elim bracket either.
