As i was leaving my apartment complex here in Clemson, i had to go up a small hill, at the top of the hill was a puddle of water (more like running water down the hill, as it had been drizzling all morning) i had to kind of swerve to the left to get around a parked SUV and the wheel came right out of my hands when i went to give it gas to get up the little hill. She spun 2 times a complete 360 and hit two parked cars and ended up in the exact opposite direction that i was going and alongside another red corvette, missed it by a foot. I have about $2000 worth of damage after finding a corvette specialist who is going to cut the fiberglass hood and replace a section. Most body shops wanted to buy a completely new hood. I dont know if its wrong to feel this way, but i wished that i wouldve been hurt instead of the car, i love it too much.
sorry to hear that. At least you are ok. no one else got hurt? The car can be fixed. I just last week my brakes went out on my 77 corvette. I was in traffic doing about 50-55 MPH when they went out. lucky I did not hit anything or anyone. come to find out my r/f cal. pinston seal blew out. THE NIGHTMARE

Sorry to hear about your car. Do not cut the hood and repair it. The repair will always come back because of the heat of the engine. Try to get a used hood or bite the bullet and buy a new hood.

Very sound advice. Don't waste the time and money getting the hood fixed. Spend the extra now on a used or new hood, and benefit from it later.
My basket case was repaired from two different hoods. You can't tell from the top side. I agree with the rest though, if you're not paying for it, make the insurance company do it, it's what you pay insurance for.
thats the problem, i have to pay for it, no collision insurance, only liability. He insures his work for life, so if it ever gave another problem, im takin it back
