Default Dyeing seats different color

I have read a lot about seat covers but has anybody had any experiance with changing the color of there seats with a leather Dye.

My 85 is Bronze and Brown exterior but the seats are Silver, carpet and door panells are shades of Brown. I imagine the seats were changed at some point.

What would be the official color of the original seats, Saddle would be to light I think?

If I were to go with the wet okolee covers I think the Mocha looked the closest.

Thanks in advance

Joe

Green Hornet

Do you have any pictures, I have heard that the covers are top notch and fit better in time, would you agree?

A 85 with brown exterior would probably have bronze interior. My car has bronze interior wihich includes brown looking carpet.

These new seat leathers were actually a light cream color. I bought them on ebay. The pics in the listing looked white, and they stated they were white. But when they showed up at my door, I was pissed. Still only paid $ 395 for the complete set. Another $100 later to get them dyed arctic white and now I'm happy. They've been on a week and nothings rubbed off yet. Very soft too. Got them from leatherseats.com. Normal price was over$750? I'll have to give it some time in the sun for shrinkage I guess. Couple of the bolsters are slightly baggy, but otherwise a good deal, and way better than the old raggedy ones!

Did you look up the build codes to see what came in the car?

There are seats out there, the Brown ones shouldn't be hard to find, they just lift out. Easier to replace than dye.

Look in the for sale section. Buy what you need then turn around and sell what you got......there would be a negligible Delta in money.

don't know if it has been said yet or not but they make a vinyl spray paint for cars.

I used it on my scooter seat that was pink/purple and it worked okay. Just make sure the seat is super clean first.

It's the web address AND the user id for ebay which is where I bought them. I had a local guy dye them -he does all the repairs for the stealership I work at. $100 for the dying, and he gave me leather conditioner and the left over dye. They were having a huge clearance on this set. $395.00! The item # was 220090978077. There is an email address in the listing. Get a hold of them and ask if they have any more clearance sets!
