They do work, but in my experience you almost always get some sort of noise through them. I'd rip out the all the bose crap and start over and then sell your bose stuff to recoup some of the costs. I think I spent about a grand on my system and then sold all old speakers/amps/head unit on Ebay for around $500. Its not the best system in the world, but it sounds wayyyyyyyyy better then the old blose system sounded.

Those adapters do work though.
I got one from Crutchfield and used it to interface my Pioneer AM/FM/CD player to my Bose speakers before I finally pulled it all out and started from scratch as said above.
I replaced my older Pioneer with a Sony w/7" LCD flip-out screen DVD and new speakers all around. Added an amp to the rears and love it!
