Default Installed a short throw

While I'm posting, I thot I would pass along my experience installing a B&M short throw shifter. My car is a 92 Vert, and for us there is some extra work involved - mainly taking all of the exhaust supports off and letting the system hang down so you can access the bottom of the trans. I also recommend removing the tunnel and console side trim piece (one piece) to allow better access, and room to reseal the gaskets. And on the vert you obviously have to drop the cross members so you can lower the exhaust. Other than that it was fairly straight forward according to directions. I would add that it might be wise to use locktight on the non-washered nut, and remember to relube the shaft that slides into the rear of the trans. It took me several days, but then I also did some detailing while I was at it, like regluing the carpet/trim piece, cleaning the undercarriage before undercoating, and cleaning and painting the exhaust system with flat black BBQ grill paint. The short throw is really sweet - talk about a difference! Half way thru I was wondering why I ever started, but when finished am glad I did. Between that and a few other upgrades, like new leather, chromed door handles/deck lid plates and luggage rack, gets me almost ready for the road. Hello Spring!!
