Default 1986 Convertible door panel question

A friend of mine has a 1986 convertible. He's trying to get replacement door panels, but has received ones with holes for switches in the end like those for a coupe's hatch release. Did the convertibles have switches in the end of the door panel? And if so, what were they used for? He can't find any wiring to connect to a switch in the door.

The hole is for a switch to release the decklid when the top is already stored inside. Should be holes on both sides.

Thanks. I didn't realize this question was already in a thread a few days ago. I did some research on Mitchell and AllData and found some more info. Maybe the wiring is stuffed in the doors somewhere.

I would look in the doors again as you said.
