Check that spare!
Mine only had 5# of air. Supposed to be kept at 60#. Also a great time to make sure that you have the jack, its handle and your locking lug nut key. Having no air in the spare or missing parts is guaranteed to ruin a road trip.
Crap, why did you have to remind me! I checked it when I first bought it a couple months ago and I knew it was flat then. Geez, now I have to go fix it............

I went to the garage and checked mine, it's right at 4 psi. Should I refill it? It's holding up my drag radials and a box of spare TPI parts, and I'd really hate for it to lose air and dump those things on the floor.
I remember checking mine 6 months after I got the vert. Guess what, there wasn't one. When I went to look at the LT4 it was one of the first things I looked for.
Don't forget that the spare goes back in upside down. That is with the fill valve down and the back of the wheel up. This is done so that if water should splash up in the tire carrier it will drain out through the holes along the deepest edge of the rim.
The combination of the MAJOR PITA it is to get at, and the fact that the florida heat has actually made the tire mold to the shape of the carrier, I'm scared to put any air in it.

That is hilarious....I'm almost in tears I'm laughing so hard over here
Thanks for the laugh
wat happens if you just take the spare tire and leave it in the garage? Does in negatively affect the handling of the car?
No. I ruined my tire carrier with a full sized drag radial in it. Haven't had the spare or the tire carrier in the Vette since Feb. No handling problems.
Spare? Spare? I have a spare tire? Never looked under to see if it is even there...guess I have the first item on my "honey Do" list when I get home from work today!!
Thanks for the reminder!
