I'm having fun with the Vette stuff, even the problems that make me want to pull out the hair I don't have. Then I get the call at 10:30 last night.
My daughter flips her Cavalier and is pinned under the car, just her ankle. By the time we get there, (about 2 miles away), they've got her out, and loading her in the ambulance. Poor kid kept saying my dad's gonna kill me. Can you imagine?
Anyway, all things considered, all is well. She's in the hospital with a nasty gash on her knee and lots of bumps and bruises, but she'll be ok, thank God.
The car is a mess, pieces of it all over the road, she doesn't remember what happened. All I know is that darn Cavalier took good care of her. I'm busy today with insurance calls, moving the car, etc.
Not trying to be profound or anything. Just another example of how quickly things happen. We were darn lucky.

Glad your daughter is going to be OK. I have two daughters myself and that is a call that I dread. I had to go to far too many fatal MVA's and deliver bad news to parents so I'm over protective of my girls.

The kids a CHP Officer and he went to a TA, the entire family, mom, dad, and the two kids in the back seat of a Camry all died.

He went home and traded the Camry in on a 6.0 Diesel Excursion.
Little cars offer little protection.

Alcohol pays a major part in TA's.

Glad the kid was ok.

Theres a Toyota Celica in the CHP yard in Fresno Ca. It was hit by a Ford Exploder and the Celica was a fatal. The car is now 4 feet long.

Thank God your daughter is OK
At times like this, we all need to realize what is truly important in our lives. Cars come and go as they should. But our families and their health and safety are the most important aspects of our lives.

You didn't mention it in your post, but I assume she was wisely wearing her seat belt. So many of our youth die way too early because they choose not to wear safety belts thinking they're invincible. It's great to hear that your Cavalier protected her in this crash!

She's fine and that's the most important thing! Hug her for all the other parents out here that pray we don't have to go through what you did!

Best Wishes!

I hope you beat the hell out of her for recking a good night sleep...after 10pm...no calls. Today go to the hospital and tell her to get her lazy butt to work to pay for the damage to the car. Then go have a few beers with the boys...knowing you have done what a proper father would do......

I always did like dark humor!

Went to see the car today, I'll have to get some pics. The guy at the body shop said he was afraid to ask how she was doing after looking at the car. As I said, someone was looking out for her.

I just got back from looking at the car. Amazing. Anyway, here are some pics. Also, I want to say, State Farm is a stand up insurance company. They have been more than helpful. Nothing left for me to guess about.

By the looks of that Cavalier your daughter is lucky that she wasn't seriously hurt. The car can be replaced. Give your daughter your unquestionable love.
