Default Throttle cable travel

Since I carbed my motor, the cable needs to travel a little farther from idle to full throttle. I need to make the gas pedal able to cause the throttle to travel an extra... 3/8" . Can I just bend the pedal a little so it's off the floor a bit more?

How does the throttle cable disengage from the top of the gas pedal? It's hard to see up there. Short of coming up w/ a better solution, I'll have to remove the pedal and add some bend to it.

Alternative ideas welcome.

Thanks,

Steve

shorten the throttle arm, where the cable connects on the carb itself. the shorter radius sweep may not need the extra length. drill another hole in the bracket closer to the pivot and try it
