Default Prop sticks!!!

Am I the only cheap a** in this bunch? Just wondering how many of you guys (or gals) have prop sticks for your hoods or rear glass. It'd be nice to know I'm not the only one! I have a peice of bar stock aluminum for my rear glass, and boy, it is a pain in the rear to load and unload the roof with the prop in the way! Show me your ingenuity!

I just went ahead and removed the hood, no props needed.

They're not cheap for one, and I think they may have been discontinued.

I used a stick on the rear glass for a short time when I first bought mine until I bought the new struts. They are not discontinued. Check with any of the Corvette parts dealers. I got mine from The Last Detail. At the time, I was surprised to find that with new struts when you pop the hatch it opens by itself.

With my car on the lift I cannot open the clamshell hood enough for the lock latch to engage so I went to the Home depot and got a 3/4 in dowle alond with a rubber end, cut it to size and wola 1 cheep hood prop.

True, except that you can get them at your local auto parts store...and they are pretty cheap...

I just replaced my worn out hatch struts with two brand new ones. They were $23 apiece from Rock Auto. Now my hatch actually opens without me having to pry it open. Worth every penny!

Both need to replaced even if one seems decent. The glass also is extermely heavy while installing them, helps to have that prop rod or an assistant. I like the hatch solenoid click then whoooosh as the glass rises, kind of neat.

My son actually asked me why Chevy makes you open your gas door to pull up the rear hatch! My struts still hold up the glass, just doesnt pop on its own.

Then I am looking in all the wrong places then! Still you could put a corvette sticker on the bar to make it more fancy.
