There is a dealers add in our newspaper this morning for a 96 auto white/red int $5888. I called the dealer and he said it is straight but has 300K miles on the clock./ I am going to look at it. Is this a good price if it is fairly decent? Thanks for the info. The dealer just called me back and said the paper was wrong and the price should be $7777 is that still a fair price?

Reason: price change
I would be very careful with that type of mileage. Many big ticket items could be ready to break. Ask for service and maintenance records. Even still, it's hard not to think some major issues are about to happen. A '96 at that price is almost telling you this negative information. C4's at very low prices like this probably are bad risks. And you could easily be faced with spending more than the selling price to correct major problems that most likely are going ot happen in the near future. Plus forget any resale value with these miles too.
I decided not to even go look at the car. I was just looking for an every day driver to replace my old beater I think I will stick to my c-3 thanks guys for the replys.
