Changing wheel studs? How?
I am about to change the wheel studs on my '84 for some longer one for a bit more security with my after market rims. How do I get the old ones out, any tricks?
On my '85 I just hit them with a hammer - they popped right out the back. Installed new ones from the back and used some washers and a nut to seat them. Very easy job.

What do I have to remove to get them out of the back?
Just the wheel. For the rear, make sure there is nothing in the way of each one, you might need to rotate the hub. Use a hammer or a clamp (preferred) to press them out, that is it. They are really just a bolt. There are some splines on the end from what I remember, align it right. I put the wheel back on and used the lug nut to pull the stud into seated position. Very easy, just a bolt stuck in a hole, the spines hold it in and keep it from twisting.

Nothing, when you hammer them, through, they should fall out the back of the hub.
Before hammering them out, put a discardable lug nut on the stud so that you don't mash or bend the stud. Thread the nut about 3 or 4 full turns (until nut and stud are flush)

Thanks all, I don't mind if they are damaged, I got all new ones
