I am wondering how I would be able to get the codes from my cars computer without paying 85 bucks to run a diagnostic. Is there an easier way to find out how to get the codes out my car?

You can get a cheap (less than 30 bucks) code reader for your Vette at any Pep Boys, Kragen (Shucks) Auto Parts, etc. The unit plugs into your computer via a harness plug under the driver side of the dash (near where your right knee would be when sitting normally in the car). Follow the directions included with the code reader, and you should be able to access any trouble codes being sent by the ECM.
I'm not sure about where you live but here in michigan autozone and Murray's discount auto read codes for free. Only takes about 5 minutes. hope you have one of them close to you.
ok guys I got the codes, I went to autozone they told me that they can only do a diagnostic on 96 or better cars. Ok heres the codes I found C12,H22,H67 now I got to find out a code reader

Tony,
MAD sells a nice diagnostic kit by Gordon Killebrew with various grounding plugs to check PCM, PKE, CCM, Etc. and an instruction book to help explain, troubleshoot, and clear basic fault codes. 94-96 Pn # 604-260 for 39.95.

c12 means On-Board diagnostics operational No DTC's. H22 and H 67 are history codes. that means they are not present now but were some time ago. not sure what year you have this is froma book on my 92 withan LT1. Disconnect the battery for a while and that should clear the two H codes. Here is some help. http://www.c4guru.com/modules.php?name=electrical or here http://www.corvettebuyers.com/c4vettes/codes.htm

From my book on the 93, yes, they are DTC codes from the ECM, not the CCM. All ECM codes ( DTC's ) will be displayed by the CCM as history whether they are current or history.

Tony,
We would need to know which module you were in when you saw the code. It is either module 1, module 4, or module 9 as displayed on the odometer for each system tested. One module is CCM codes, one module is PCM codes and so on. These flash in order as you are looking at the odometer dash display. The same code number can show up for two different modules and obviously mean something different for each. I have the code book at home to tell you if you can check that.

ok C12/1, H22/4, H67/9 Then A with no codes on top then 1.0 with no codes on top. Is that what you want? codes on top, and Module number on bottom, H22 is Pcm, and H67 is Abs/Asr module hows that.
