It's been a month since my accident and my car is still far from being done.
Any advice on what I can do to get the car done before it friggin snows!!!!!!!!
Who to bitch at, anyone with the same experience please tell me about it and what the outcome was.
Beautiful October weather and my car is in pieces, figures!!!
 :mad
Keep bugging them and showing up every single day. When I had my Grand National engine rebuilt, they told me 2 weeks. After 6 weeks, the car was finally done and I swear to God, I was there every day from the 2 weeks on. Eventually, they get so sick of seeing your face, they'll bust their butts to get done.
"Eventually, they get so sick of seeing your face, they'll bust their butts to get done."
But will they do a **** poor job to get the car out of the shop? I often wonder about that. Is it better to let them work on it, or have them rush the job to get rid of the pain in the butt customer?
I don't know how close to the shop you are, but by showing up often, you can monitor what kind of job the are doing. If they know that you are paying attention, they probably won't try to push off a shipshod job-I would check up on my baby every day!
A good shop won't mind if you check up on your car daily. If you have some mechanical knowledge and are cool with them, you will have a good experiance.
By being involved in the repair and helping in the decisions, you will know why it is taking longer. Most of the time there are legitamate reasons. Most shops want to get the car done so they can get their money. More cars they fix, the more money they make. Of course, some are just lazy and unmotivated to do the hard jobs.
In either case, being there on a regular basis will help you determine. Plus you can, in a nice way, be picky. Befriend them if you can, show your knowledge, and show how much you care about the car. You might not get it on time, but you will get it right. Plus you'll know if they are being honest with you.
I am getting my car back tomorrow (Monday). I was there everyday getting involved, without pissing anyone off. I'll show up on Friday with a case of beer for the boys. I have a few mods planned for a later date and I want to make sure they take special care of my baby :)
