Hello Everyone;
I"m sure this quesiton has been asked a thousand times before and I am sorry. Can anyone recommend to me an aftermarket radio for my 84 vette. I'm tried of replacing bose components and would like to try something new that would play mp3's as well as wav's.
This is a pretty subjective area. Everyone has their own favorite. I just got a Clarion DXZ665MP. It plays all those formats you mentioned and also has a variable color display so you can get it to match the colors of the other dash lights.

Depends on your budget and your goals. Pretty much any new head unit will do that stuff. Mid America has one, I think it's a Pioneer, that fills the Bose slot exactly. It's slightly more than 1.5 din I think. So that gives you a clean look. It's about $400 though. Too much for me.
When I buy, I'm going to get a Pioneer premier from a local car audio place that controls the antenna so that when I play CDs the antenna doesn't go up. That one is about $230.
If you do it yourself and go cheap, I think you could probably do a HU and 4 speakers for about $300-$400. The local car audio place here will do the HU and 4 pretty good speakers for $580.
