I entered my car for the first time in a judged event and actually got first in class. Street Driven 84-90. I know judges are nuts and everything is subjective but I was pretty excited. Had a great time with family and friends who came over with me.
Just to show you how crazy judging can be, Peach, who posts in the C5 section, has a gorgeous yellow C5 that came away empty.
Coming from people with rides as nice as the ones in all your signatures, that means a lot. Buy the way Zora, I wish I had a garage that looked as great as yours. (I mean with 2 Vettes! ... The garage is nice too.)
Yea...lotta times the judging is "subjective". (is that a nice way to put it????) BUT...that just goes to show ya how much they liked YOUR car...and how they appreciate the work you did prep'n the car! Great Job!
Congrats. I think I remember seeing your car, it looked good. I couldn't believe some of the other cars I saw entered. Engine compartments were pretty dirty.
I had actually started out in the show, unloaded everything, started cleaning then thought to myself... "Why am I busting my butt for this?" So I packed up and moved up on the hill to park in the Grand Sport corral. Must say I had a much better time not spending the whole morning cleaning the beast. Besides, it had been in the shop all week so it was filthy to begin with... well, relative to many other cars in the show, anyway. :)
OK, so maybe the truth is I saw YOUR green beauty and figured I didn't stand a chance against that kind of compeition. :D:D:D
Whatever, congratulations on the win. Sure was a nice day, wasn't it???
Not to say anything bad about the C5's but I would be rather pissed if my car lost to one that was bought a year ago. I dont even go to the shows that do that kind of crap, even if i dont enter my car. A car show should be more than what you see at a dealer.
