85 "Security" light

Default 85 "Security" light
OK....Ive got this 85 Coupe...and the alarm system works fine. However whenever the alarm is not armed and a door is opened, the "security" light comes on in the dash information panel....

um...does this thing have any real function exccept to scare off potential theives? I mean this was before VATS.....

NO function except to remind you that you haven't armed the alarm. It's normal, ignore it. It does at least tell you that the door switch is working...

That's the Battery Drain Warning light if you leave the door open overnight.

Mine still comes on all the time, even though I removed my VATS
