Dawn for a great hand cleaner keep a bottle of Dawn near the utility sink for when you clean yourself up during or after any greasy or dirty work, oil, grease, dirt, paint, you get the idea. It works better than any of the speciality hand cleaners you can buy for more $.

Because of its greater PH, Dawn will more effectively strip off existing waxes/sealants. It will also be a lot harder on everything else on your car like the weatherstripping.
However, if you are using clay and/or polishes to prep your paint (including something like Zaino All-in-One), there is no need for Dawn as the abrasives in the clay/polish will very effectively strip pre-existing waxes/sealants from the paint.
I never Dawn wash. I always clay and polish my cars twice a year. I've used a variety of waxes afterwards, including Zaino, and I've never had a problem with adherence/bonding.
If you read the Zaino site, the first thing they say to do is was with Dawn to remove all old wax and junk...
I'm in agreement with kumayama about polish and clay.
Dawn is unnecessary. Clay is to remove embedded particles in the surface of the paint. Any abrasive such as Meguiars, Menzerna, Optimum, Poorboys, etc will remove old wax and sealants.
