Breaks are squeaking.....Bought Performance Friction Pads for all four corners....took the left rear wheel off.......felt the rotor.....and there is a small lip on the extreme outside dge of the rotor wear the pads bite. What I want to know is...I just bought the car and have a reciept from the dealer for pads and rotors on 2/12/99. I have replaced many pads on many cars...but never have I seen this much of a lip on the rotor. Is this normal on a vette? Is the rotor soft....or did the dealer say they did it...and DID NOT??!! :mad
I think at least the definatly need to be turned...but maybe even replaced. I am talking about a 1/32nd to almost a 1/16 of lip...just on that rotor...have not pulled the other wheels yet to look.
Is this normal? I dont think so but not too sure!
Question 2: What size is the bolt holding the caliper on??
Oh Yeah.......car has 110,500 miles on it! Thats why I think that the dealer did not perform the work listed on the ticket. They are notorius for such things in my expericence. I sold my 85....98,000 miles on it....one dealer gave it a complete clean bill of health.......When the guy bought it.....he took it to the dealer in question...tey told him he needed a complete engine......AND HE AGREED!!!!!!!
