I have been having issues with my '91 vette overheating. Everyone tells me that it is because of where the air intake is located. Has anyone else had this problem, if so have you found a way to fix/avoid the problem.
Does the second fan come on when you turn on the A/C? Just a simple test to make sure the second fan is functioning. You should hear the second fan turn on. Check for debris in the radiator, these cars are like Kirby vacuums.
Also, a good flush and fill might be in order. Use a 50/50 mix. It comes premixed or you can buy 100% antifreeze and add you own distilled water to make 50/50 mix. Regular green coolant is what your car will need.
Do you have your lower spoiler (Three piece) underneath the front end? This is there to help with cooling. Sometimes previous owners have removed them on purpose or "ahem" accidentially with a parking curb.
After replacing the coolant and checking the thermostat and giving the radiator a good clean out you may want to invest in a new PROM for your computer that turns on the fans sooner. Also check the underside of the radiator as the C4 is a vaccum cleaner of sorts and all kinds of debries leaves and everything blocks the lower portion of the radiator deminshing cooling capacity. Check to see if your fins are bent underneath the front bumber as well. Really a little bit of PM in these areas should solve your cooling problems. Its known to get hot here in AZ as well. Take care
Lastly welcome to the forum lots of friendly folks here and no shortage on opinions

Welcome to the forum! While you're doing all the above, you might want to inspect and replace hoses that are spongy or bulged. Enjoy and stay safe!
